Where Google Analytics is better

GA4 costs nothing at any volume, handles very large traffic, and integrates natively with Google Ads, Search Console and BigQuery. Its exploration reports are deep, and most marketers already know it. If your revenue lives in Google’s ecosystem and you already run a consent banner, GA4 is hard to argue with on price.

  • You need free analytics at very high volume.
  • Google Ads is your main channel and you rely on its native integration.
  • You already run a consent banner and BigQuery.

Where ProductLense is better

ProductLense reads payments, refunds and fees from your billing provider and attributes them to first touch, so subscription renewals and refunds land on the right channel without event wiring. It shows profit and payback per channel, retention cohorts by channel, and runs without cookies on a 2.3 KB script, so no consent banner blocks your data.

  • You want subscription revenue and refunds per channel without event wiring.
  • You want no cookie banner and no consent-related data loss.
  • You want profit and payback per channel in one table.

ProductLense vs Google Analytics: questions

Does ProductLense replace Google Analytics?
For most SaaS sites, yes: ProductLense covers pageviews, sources, campaigns, pages, countries, devices, goals, funnels and journeys, and adds revenue and profit per channel. It does not replicate GA4’s Google Ads audience building or BigQuery export. Some teams run both while they compare numbers for a month.
Why do ProductLense and GA4 show different visitor counts?
GA4 counts users with a two-year _ga cookie and only after consent where a banner is used, so declined visitors are missing. ProductLense counts every visitor without cookies but treats the same person on two different days as two visitors until they identify. Expect ProductLense to show more visitors when a banner is in place.
Can GA4 show Stripe revenue by channel?
Not out of the box. You would send purchase events from your code or server, keep refunds in sync, and handle renewals yourself. ProductLense reads Stripe and twelve other billing sources directly, including renewals and refunds, and attributes each payment to the visitor’s first touch automatically.
Is ProductLense free like Google Analytics?
ProductLense is free up to 10k events a month for one site. Paid plans are $19 for 100k events, $49 for 1M and $149 for 10M, or ₹999, ₹2,499 and ₹6,999 for accounts registered in India. GA4 is free at any volume, which is its clearest advantage.
Do I need a cookie banner with ProductLense?
ProductLense sets no cookies, uses no local storage on visitors and stores no IP addresses, which is why most sites run it without a banner. Whether your site needs one also depends on your other scripts, such as ad pixels or chat widgets, so check your full setup with your legal advisor.
