ProductLense vs PostHog
PostHog is a broad product platform with analytics, session replay, feature flags and experiments; ProductLense is narrower and focused on money. ProductLense connects ten billing providers directly and shows revenue, retention and profit by acquisition channel without a data warehouse.

Where PostHog is better
PostHog does far more: session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and a data warehouse, with a generous free tier of 1M product analytics events a month. If you need replay or flags, ProductLense does not offer them and has no plans to in v1. PostHog is also widely deployed and can run on your own servers.
- You need session replay, feature flags or experiments.
- You want one tool for the whole product team.
- You are comfortable building revenue reports on a warehouse.
Where ProductLense is better
ProductLense gives revenue and profit per channel out of the box. PostHog brings Stripe revenue in through its data warehouse or revenue events, which takes setup; ProductLense connects Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Dodo Payments, Razorpay, Chargebee, Shopify, Gumroad and Creem in a form, backfills 12 months, and subtracts ad spend and fees to give profit, CAC and payback.
- You want revenue and profit per channel without SQL.
- You bill through a merchant of record such as Paddle or Dodo Payments.
- You want a 2.3 KB cookieless script and no consent banner.
ProductLense vs PostHog: questions
- Can I use ProductLense and PostHog together?
- Yes, and many teams would. PostHog handles session replay, feature flags and experiments; ProductLense handles revenue attribution and profit per channel. Call identify with the same user id in both so you can move between a customer’s revenue in ProductLense and their sessions in PostHog without guessing.
- How does PostHog get Stripe revenue?
- PostHog’s revenue analytics reads Stripe through its data warehouse source or from revenue events you capture yourself, according to its docs. ProductLense connects the billing provider directly with an API key and webhook, backfills 12 months, and attributes each payment to the visitor’s first touch when the payment is written.
- Is PostHog cheaper than ProductLense?
- At low volume, yes: PostHog’s first 1M product analytics events a month are free, while ProductLense is free only to 10k. At 10M events PostHog’s published rates work out to about $324 a month for analytics events alone, against $149 for ProductLense Scale. Replay and flags are billed separately by PostHog.
- Does ProductLense have session replay or feature flags?
- No. Session replay, feature flags, A/B tests and surveys are listed as non-goals for ProductLense v1. ProductLense keeps one job: what visitors do, which ones pay, and which channels make a profit. If you need replay or flags, use PostHog or another tool alongside ProductLense.
- Is ProductLense cookieless when PostHog is not?
- ProductLense never sets cookies or local storage on visitors; it counts visitors with a daily-salted hash. PostHog uses local storage and a cookie by default and offers a memory-only persistence mode you can switch on. With the defaults, ProductLense needs no consent banner in most setups, while PostHog usually does.
