Web analytics: questions

How big is the ProductLense script?
The tracker’s build budget is 2,300 bytes gzipped, enforced in CI, so it is about 2.3 KB. It loads with defer, makes no blocking requests, and sends events in batches with navigator.sendBeacon or fetch with keepalive, so it does not hold up rendering or navigation.
Does ProductLense track single-page apps?
Yes. The script listens to history pushState, replaceState and popstate, and records a pageview when the URL changes, so React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js and other client-side routers are tracked without extra code. Set data-spa="false" on the script tag to turn this off.
Does ProductLense track mobile apps?
Yes. The React Native and Flutter SDKs send screen views, goals and identify from iOS and Android apps, attributed to the deep link or Play Store campaign that brought each install. Apps show next to your website in every report: the Hostname breakdown lists each app by its bundle id. Native Swift and Kotlin apps can send events from their backend.
Are outbound links and downloads tracked?
Yes, automatically. Clicks on links to other domains are recorded as Outbound Link events, and clicks on .pdf, .zip, .csv, .xlsx, .docx, .dmg, .exe and .apk files as File Download events, both with the URL as a property. Set data-outbound="false" to turn this off.
How is a session defined?
A session is a run of events from one visitor with no gap longer than 30 minutes. Bounce rate is the share of sessions with exactly one pageview. Because visitors are identified by a daily hash, a session never spans two days unless the visitor identified.
Can I exclude my own visits or admin pages?
Add data-exclude with comma-separated path globs, such as /admin/*,/preview, and those paths are never tracked. Visits from localhost are skipped unless you add data-dev="true", and browsers driven by automation are skipped. Setting window.__pl_disable before the script loads turns tracking off for that browser.
How long is data kept?
Every report is kept for the life of the account on Growth and Scale. Raw events, which step-by-step funnels and the events explorer read, are kept for 90 days. Free shows the last 30 days and Starter the last 12 months; upgrading shows the older history again.
