Profit per channel: questions

Something else? Write to us and a person replies.

How is profit per channel calculated?

Profit equals the net revenue of payments attributed to the channel and paid in the period, minus that channel’s ad spend for the same period. Net revenue is the amount charged minus processor fees and refunds, converted to USD at the ECB daily rate. Attribution uses each customer’s first touch.

Where does ad spend come from?

From the Meta Ads and Google Ads sync on Growth and Scale, a CSV import, or rows you enter by hand. Spend joins to revenue on channel, source, medium and campaign, so tag ads with the same values. A manual or CSV row always wins over a synced one.

Are refunds taken off the right channel?

Yes. A refund is attributed to the same customer, and so the same first-touch channel, as the original payment. It reduces net revenue in the period the refund happened, not the period of the original sale, so recent periods can show refunds for older sales.

What if my provider does not report fees?

Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee, Shopify orders and Creem do not expose fees through the APIs ProductLense reads, so fees from those connections are recorded as 0 and profit for them is before fees. Each integration page states what ProductLense can read, including fees.

Which plan includes profit per channel?

Growth and Scale. Growth is $49 a month, or ₹2,499 for accounts registered in India, and includes profit, ad spend sync and CSV import, cohorts and every billing connection for up to 1M events a month across ten sites, with unlimited team members.

Why does an organic channel show no CAC?

CAC and ROAS need spend. A channel with no spend rows, such as organic search or direct, shows a dash rather than zero, so it is not mistaken for a perfect score. Its profit equals its net revenue. If you pay for content or tools, enter that cost as spend.
